Collectively, Smith, Johnson and Ector County Appraisal Districts are responsible for appraising approximately 731,000 properties including residential,commercial, business real property, and mineral accounts. In October of 2017 they jointly issued a Request for Proposal for a new, fully integrated CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) system. On May 21, 2018 it was announced that they unanimously selected Government Software Assurance (GSA).
Anita Campbell, Chief Appraiser for Ector County Appraisal District explained “The ECAD staff recommendations came after the parties in the Inter local Agreement, formed by the appraisal districts of Ector, Johnson and Smith counties, completed an extensive analysis and compare is on of all software vendor proposals.”
